What is your role at CASTUS? What are your responsibilities?

I work as a “Brand Coordinator” at CASTUS. I have a variety of responsibilities, from creating social media content to researching new avenues for communication. I support the Director of Business Development & Brand Strategy to generate engaging material that represents our brand and mission.

Where did you go to school? What did you study?

I am a graduate of Grove City College. As a double major I graduated Summa Cum Laude with degrees in Communication Studies and Entrepreneurship. In school I was a member of the Orientation Board, the Alpha Beta Tau Sorority, and the Newman Club. I enjoyed studying diverse topics such as social entrepreneurship, archaeology, and screenwriting.

What led you to work with CASTUS?

I was introduced to CASTUS through the Pittsburgh Fellows, a leadership development program based in the area. CASTUS stood out to me with their professionalism, strong community, and dedication to their mission. After meeting with the team, I knew working with CASTUS would be an incredible opportunity.

What experiences have you had outside of formal education that lead you to choose this internship?

Throughout high school and college I participated in many teams, clubs, and ministries. I knew that when I entered the workforce, I wanted the same type of community. A group that was focused on a common goal, operated with teamwork, and pursued excellence. CASTUS fulfills these criteria, and many more.

In college I found many new interests. After short-term study abroad opportunities in France and Scotland; and an internship in Italy I became passionate about studying different cultures. I love learning about their histories, languages, and social systems. CASTUS does business on an international scale. They consult on international expansion. Their expertise is not limited to exiting the U.S. market, but also in assisting foreign companies to enter it. Working with CASTUS in this exciting field was a huge incentive to select this opportunity.

How will working at CASTUS give you a leg up in your career?

The people that work for CASTUS are of an exceptional caliber. I am so excited to work with and learn from the best consultants in their fields. I will be working on challenging projects under the direction of incredible supervisors. This will prepare me to achieve excellence in my work for the rest of my career.
